The Cost of a Guest House or Accessory Dwelling in San Ramon. And How Long It Takes To Build It.

We recently completed a guest house/accessory dwelling in San Ramon, CA.  This is a 701 square foot accessory dwelling with a full kitchen and bathroom. The timeline and cost of the project was:

Design Proposal Accepted: October 2014

Permitting Starts: March 2015

Building Permits Issued:October 2015

Construction Starts: October 2015

Construction Finishes: March 2016

The total cost of design, engineering and permits was $29,000.  The construction costs are $190,000.   The total project cost is just over $200,000 for a new 700 square foot home
